About Me

James F. Eiff LCSW

Owner, Licensed Psychotherapist

I work with adolescents and adults providing individual therapy to help them overcome challenges and connect with their best selves. From small private practices to large psychiatric treatment institutions like Rogers Memorial Hospital, I have cultivated over 15 years of experience working with diverse clientele in a variety of treatment settings and have led therapy groups focused on trauma, anger management, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety.

I graduated with my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with concentrations in behavioral and physical health and trauma therapy. I have provided consultation for programming revision in the areas of trauma and personality disorders and served on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Waukesha, assisting in their growth into NAMI Southeast Wisconsin. I am also an active member of NASW.

My approach to therapy draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, depth psychology, dialectical behavior therapy, positive psychology, narrative grief therapy, and solution focused therapy. I am also EMDR certified. In 2007, I traveled to southern India to study coping strategies used by survivors of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. Always amazed by resiliency of the human spirit, I employ a strength-based approach that looks at all behaviors as adaptive and seeks to avoid judgmental attitudes that prevent greater understanding, a requisite for sustainable positive change.
